Electo-Voice model 664 - DYNAMIC CARDOID MICROPHONE - classic

$40.00

For Sale: Classic microphone first made in the 1950's. Heavy and high quality construction. Built in screw mount attaches to any standard microphone stand without the need for a separate mic clip.

Lots of info on this classic microphone here: http://www.coutant.org/ev664/

The mike is in near mint shape and works perfectly. Very good sound quality, no hum or static. Good on/off switch. Clean. This microphone has both high and low impedance option. When I found it there was no cable so I made one from an old XLR cable as shown. The original connector had four pins and could be rotated to get either high or low impedance output. The cable I made has two pins and is set up for high impedance with a standard 1/4" jack on the other end.

Cable will stay attached even if you move mike around but there is no screw attachment to lock in place, so you may want to use a piece of duct or electrical tape to hold together just in case. The cable is high quality microphone cable, very heavy duty, extra long. Plug wires were carefully soldered and covered with heat shrink tubing, and epoxy was used to hold pins in correct place. See photos for details on plug.
