Chevalier - MARINE BINOCULARS - w/case, vintage antique brass

For Sale: This is a quite old set of binoculars in good working condition.

Marked on the top of both eyepieces Marine Chevalier. This company has apparently been in business for a LONG time and made in France. Not sure how old these are but if I had to guess would say definitely pre WW II, maybe even pre WW I. The thick black paint is in pretty nice condition and in the few places where it is worn can see the brass metal underneath. Compact design with brass shade pieces that pull out and lock in place.

The lenses all look to be in good condition and the binoculars are 100% usable and focus well. There is some minor wear and dust and would benefit from a professional cleaning but not necessary in my opinion. Not sure what the brown covering is made of but it does not show a whole lot of wear. The case appears to be leather and is in pretty solid shape, internally the purple fabric has come detached in front as shown, still works great for storage.
