Wurlitzer Spectra Tone leslie type ROTATING TREMOLO SPEAKER

$40.00

Tested and working heavy/high quality dual speed rotating speaker assembly removed from a 1960's Wurlitzer organ. Lot #2.

Although the drivers are probably full range I think the ideal use for this in projects would be for the higher frequencies along with a standard Leslie underneath to try to duplicate the classic Leslie organ speaker cabinets.

Fast speed works, slow does not. Both motors are working. Uses standard 120vac house current for the motors and switches between speeds by use of a solenoid. Solenoid not tested but I have no reason to think it will not work fine. You can also move the solenoid manually to change speed. Designed for vertical use but seems to work correctly when placed horizontally as well. Two opposite facing 4" speakers are mounted on the end of a counterweight- sound quality is good and the speakers seem to be able to handle some power- and get loud. No rips, tears, or holes in the speaker cones.

I have come across several of these and usually the main belt has stretched and the rubber that goes along the slow speed pulley has rotted away. On THIS ONE THE MAIN BELT IS REASONABLY TIGHT BUT THE RUBBER AROUND THE SLOW SPEED PULLEY IS GONE. The slow speed motor still turns but since rubber is missing it does not make contact with the pulley and speaker does not rotate. Add your own cabinet and use for keyboards, guitar, bass, etc.

These units also have a light bulb and two photoresistors which are not needed for the assembly to be used. Measures approx. 16.5" x 21" x 17.5".

Send your zip code for ship cost- should be between $13.95 and $29.95 if you are in the continental USA (Nov. 2012).
