This can operate as a TIVO type device and record free over the air broadcast according to any schedule you program into it just like and old style VCR deck. No subscription fees! It can record to the hard drive or DVD. It can dub from DVD to hard drive and vice versa.
Carefully checked and everything is working correctly. Scanned for local digital broadcasts and recorded a TV show to hard drive. Dubbed from HD to DVD, finalized DVD, and checked DVD in a different player. Then I dubbed from a DVD to HD. Works perfectly. Just a little cosmetic wear, nice and clean. The remote is a Magnavox but it's not original to this deck, does have pretty much all the controls except for channel up and down. You can change channels with the remote's number buttons. You can access all onscreen menus and features with the remote.
Has adjustable Commercial Skip feature! Recording time for the hard drive is 387 hours at lowest setting or 84 hours at HD setting. There is a Digital Video (Firewire?) input on the front, analog and SVideo inputs on back, analog, Svideo, and Component Video outputs. Digital audio output, and HDMI out.
