Baldwin 1964 Orgasonic 2 channel TUBE AMPLIFIER w/6 EL84 tubes

$90.00

For Sale:  Tested and working tube amp removed from a Baldwin Orga-Sonic organ made in USA in/around 1964.

The amp worked great in the organ- excellent sound quality, no static or excessive hum, could get very loud and no distortion.  The amp drove two 12" speakers and a 10" that was used in the built in Leslie assembly. I carefully removed this from the organ keeping track of which wires went where.  I removed the power switch, power light, and Leslie motor switch and then soldered the wires back together and wrapped in electrical tape.   The volume/expression pedal from the organ attaches with two plugs.  The speaker outputs are labeled on the chassis.

After removal I hooked up the speakers again and located the shielded wires that appeared to be the inputs.  There are three sets of shielded wires- not sure what one of them is for but one is the input for the Leslie speaker channel and one is the input for the 2 12" driver channel.  First I tried with a guitar but the input level was too low so you could barely hear it, then I tried by hooking up directly to a CD player output but the level was way too loud- could barely turn the volume up at all, did not sound very good.

In addition to the volume control from the included organ pedal there are separate gain controls for both channels on the chassis.  They are working correctly.

The chassis also supplied various voltages to the other parts of the organ like tone generator- the cables/plugs for these connections are included but are not necessary to use the amp.  The power switch and power light are working correctly.  The amp appears to have all it's original tubes which are labeled Baldwin- there are six 6BQ5 (EL84) tubes, 5 are green print Sylvania from 1964 and one is white print Sylvania from 1963.  There are 4 green print Sylvania preamplifier 12AX7 tubes from 1964.   One 5U4GB Sylvania rectifier tube from 1964.  Some of the capacitors used are Sprague Black Beautys.

This amp and it's accessories are sold as-is but carefully tested and as described above.  To use it for any paticular purpose besides putting back in the same model organ you will probably need to do some minor modification and have the knowledge to do so.

Unfortunately I forgot to note the organ model name that this came from but think it may have been a 60A.   The tone generator used transistors, tubes only used for amp/preamp section.
