Admiral Y949 vintage - RECORD PLAYER - tube powered, works but

$35.00

For Sale: Vintage 1960's tube amplified 4 speed record player.

As seen in the video (below) it works pretty good, unfortunately there is a low hum in the amplifier. The hum seems to disappear when music is playing. It does not get louder or change tone when you turn the volume or tone dials. Sold as-is for parts, repair, or maybe even conversion into a low wattage electric guitar amplifier.

I have a schematic diagram for the amp. The hum probably will go away if you replace one, two, or maybe all three of the capacitors. Case shows cosmetic wear as shown- have some vintage grill fabric you can have that would make nice replacement for torn fabric on front. Speaker is alnico, working well. Speeds sound correct, all four 16 33 45 and 78 are working. The stylus is a flip type and the 33/45 side is worn out, 78 side sounds OK.

Amp chassis is 1FI.
