KLH Model Twenty - TURNTABLE - w/NW receiver, Pickering V15 cart

$60.00

For Sale: This is a vintage KLH combo stereo turntable and receiver in very nice wood case. Heavy and high quality construction. Clean with very little wear.

Previous owner has bypassed the amplifier/receiver section and soldered the turntable signal output connections directly to the RCA jacks on the back so it is functioning only as a turntable and will need to be hooked up to a receiver or amplifier with Phono inputs to work. I assume but am not positive they did this because the amp/receiver had issues, it's possible the amp/receiver section is fine too but it's untested.

The turntable is a "Made by Garrard for KLH"- it plays and sound quality is excellent with the included vintage Pickering V-15HB/AT2C phono cartridge and D-AT-2C stylus needle. Good bass, good treble, no skipping, no hum or distortion. Speed sounds correct. The automatic features of the turntable are not working so it's fully manual- to play an album you turn power on, move the tonearm to the first track of record, lower the cuing lever. The tonearm slowly drops and the album plays. At the end of the record you need to raise the cuing lever, manually move the tonearm to the holder, and power off. If you try to use the auto start, stop, reject, etc. the movement bogs down.

To get the automatic features to work correctly you would have to remove the old dried up grease from the metal parts and relubricate. It's a normal issue with older turntables like this.

Wood cabinet and Lucite dust cover are in very nice shape. The bottom cover IS included although not shown in photos. There appear to be no broken or missing parts.
