MedGeneral MicroCeptor II TENS SYSTEM, complete in case

$50.00

Complete in box but untested.

This is assumed to be in good working condition but sold as-is. Looks pretty much unused.  The two small rechargeable battery packs are old and not holding a charge.  They will need to be rebuilt or replaced.  You could probably also rig up the unit to use a standard 9 volt battery if you are handy.

Although this one is untested I am also selling another similar one of these so I can describe what they do- with the pads and leads connected and placed on skin it delivers a very mild shock at variable frequencies and amplitude.  I had tested both channels on myself at the highest setting and it was not painful but I think it would be irritating if it went on for a while.

Here is some info I found on this on the web:

Pain is the body's warning system. It is a way of letting an individual know that something is wrong.  Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a safe non-invasive drug-free method of pain management. It relieves pain by sending small electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin to underlying nerve fibers. TENS is believed to work by two different mechanisms. First, electrical stimulation of the nerve fibers can block a pain signal from being carried to the brain. If the signal is blocked, pain is not perceived. Secondly, the body has its own mechanism for suppressing pain. It does this by releasing natural chemicals called endorphins in the brain which act as analgesics. TENS may activate this mechanism. By effectively managing pain without drugs, TENS allows many people with chronic pain conditions to resume daily activity.

Send your zip code for ship cost- should be between $5.95 and $9.95 if you are in the continental USA (Nov. 2012).
