For Sale: This is the older Canadian made Take 5 set, not the newer "Take 5 Classic" Chinese made speakers. I believe these were made in the late 1990's or early 2000's.
Includes four Take 2 front and rear speakers, a Take 1 center channel speaker, and the original model e:XL-S8 100 watt powered subwoofer. High quality home theater speakers made with high quality components. Excellent full range sound from the passive speakers and excellent bass from the subwoofer that will shake the floor and rattle the walls if you turn it up.
All 7 woofers have firm surrounds, cones have no rips, tears, holes, or voice coil rubbing. All five dome tweeters are mint condition and work perfectly. The crossovers on the passive speakers each have 4 capacitors, two wire wound resistor, and a coil. Unlike the newer model you can access the drivers and electronics by taking the backs off the wood cabinets, newer model is much cheaper construction.
The tweeters on these are held in place by plastic backing pieces which are screwed in place- on three of them the plastic had broken and the tweeters were loose- so I epoxied the plastic clamps back together and now all the tweeters are firmly in place, no issues. The back of the cabinet has a foam gasket and the tweeter also has a foam gasket in the front of it, there is a cabinet filling piece of acoustic insulation in each: these were made with care and quality
Overall the speakers show very little wear. Removable grills are solid, grill fabric in good shape. The sub has a broken red plastic clip (see photo) on one of the spring terminals but still works perfectly. All sub controls and inputs working correctly. No distortion or hum. LOUD!
