Peavey Standard Series 260 PA MIXER AMPLIFIER -w/reverb made USA

For Sale: This is a legendary workhorse amplifier from 1976. Made in the USA. Conservatively rated at 130 watts into 4 ohm load. 8 ohm and 2 ohm speaker loads also are fine.

This is the early version with real spring reverb, later versions did not have the reverb tank. These are sometimes considered "bulletproof" amps because they are built like a tank and often keep working trouble free decade after decade. This amp can handle 8 ohm, 4 ohm, and even 2 ohm impedance load without breaking a sweat.

Sound quality is quite good- no distortion, no excessive hum, no issues. All eight 1/4" inputs tested good. Reverb sounds excellent. Most of the dials were just sprayed down with electronic cleaner spray so they don't have any static or scratchiness when adjusted. All controls and features are good. Power light is good. Previous owner installed an extra two 1/4" speaker outputs on the back, currently these are not hooked up to anything so only the original two are usable. Amplifier shows some minor cosmetic wear but overall nice shape for a 47 year old piece of equipment.

Some people use these as bass amps and swear by them, some even use as guitar amp.
