For Sale: This iPod is new/unused and in mint shape BUT the battery is not holding a charge and will need to be replaced to use.
When I picked this up locally along with a new/shrink wrapped iPod Classic (sorry it's been sold) the case was open but was obvious it had never been used. I tried charging it up but apparently the battery had gone bad for sitting unused for many years and it does not hold any charge at all.
Complete with original brand new Apple earbuds, original USB cable, plastic piece for a dock or something, clear plastic case, and misc. paperwork.
If you attach to a PC via a USB cable it will show the Apple icon, eventually start, screen will flash on for a second or two, then restart itself in a loop. If you attach it to a higher output USB AC adapter it will start normally but the battery won't hold any charge at all. As long as it's plugged in you can use normally, listen to music, go through the menus, etc. as seen in photos.
New batteries for this model are not expensive - $5 with free shipping - and are readily available on the web. Replacing the battery apparently involves soldering, YouTube videos are out there that will walk you through the process.
