For Sale: Tested and working rare modded Asia NTSC/J version of the Halo 2 Special Edition system.
Includes original translucent blue console and original blue controller. Also included is a blue Game Stop controller, AV cable, and power cord. Everything works well with no apparent issues at all. The original controller has worn rubber on the joysticks which I think can be replaced. The console looks identical to the Canadian version of the Halo 2 Special Edition except that the Xbox jewel in the center is black and not green. Marked release Mar. 17, 2005.
This system has been modded and the hard drive has been upgraded to 200 GB. A small unobtrusive metal toggle switch on the side will either leave the system in standard Asian/Chinese/Japanese mode or if you switch it up will access a modded OS with 66 full games stored on the hard drive. In regular mode everything seems to be working fine but if you put a N. American game in it will give you an out of region error and the game will not load. The system will play music CD and DVD's (with MS DVD adapter) no problem in regular mode. In modded mode the system loaded and played all the US Xbox games I tested it with and also will play DVDs without the use of the Microsoft adapter. The modded firmware is pretty extensive with many options - main menu allows you to choose from Games, Emulators, Applications, and System. Under Emul you can choose from Family, Fbalphax, Kawa X, and Megadrive. I assume for Nintendo, Sega, and other ROMS. Something called "XBoy Advance...". Under Applications you can choose from Boxplorer, DOSxBox, DVD-Progressive, DVD2Xbox, and Game Backup. Everything I tried was working correctly but no guarantees on the firmware. There seem to be 66 games and lots of saved games on the hard drive- every single one I tried worked correctly. Some of the games are Halo 2, Brothers in Arms, Call of Duty Finest Hour, Conker Live and Reloaded, Doom 3, Grand Theft Auto GTA San Andreas, Prince of Persia WW, Sniper Elite, LOTS of Star Wars games, etc. etc.
Not a lot of wear on console- no chips or cracks. CD tray opens and closes correctly.
