Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.5)
The YPT-300 features 102 built-in songs for you to learn to play using Y.E.S.5. The songs are separated into left and right hand parts, providing 7 levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary. These keyboard lessons are split into 3 for each hand:
¢LISTEN & LEARN helps you figure out the melody or rhythm of a selected song.
¢TIMING mode allows you to play the melody or chord by pressing any key using the correct timing.
¢WAITING mode stops the playback of a song until you find the correct note and then continues.
The Y.E.S. system also features Lesson Grading which monitors your progress and provides feedback as you practice lessons two and three, and Chord Dictionary which shows you how to play chords, telling you which chords you're playing by displaying the notes and chord name on the LCD screen.

Auto Accompaniment Styles
Can't decide? The YPT-300 has a built-in auto-accompaniment feature. Just select a style”there are 100 to choose from”then play a note or chord on the left side of the keyboard and play your melody on the right side. The keyboard will create a backup band and follow you through the song. Have a blast experimenting with different styles. Polyphony and Multi-Timbrel
Polyphony is the number of sounds a keyboard can make at the same time. Obviously, more is better. However, more sounds means more memory. Many keyboards at this price point only offer 12-note polyphony, but the YPT-300 offers 32 notes of polyphony and will play back 32 different parts or sounds at once (16-part multi-timbrel). That's enough for even the most demanding piece.
