Yaesu FT-902DM - TRANSCEIVER - ham radio, partially working, nice shape

$325.00

For Sale: This radio powers up fine with my DIY power cord and jumpers (included).

More photos will be posted soon or you can email me.

Turning the tuning dial does not change the digital frequency. All the other switches, dials, lights, meter, etc. appear to be working. I can receive static on the various bands and when I hooked up a piece of wire for antenna did very briefly hear a transmission when I was rotating the Band dial.  Since you can't adjust the frequencies at all was not able to tune in any stations at all.  The cooling fan works well.

If this is the only issue the radio has here is a possible fix found online:

I've repaired three FT902's now with the same fault.
VFO not altering the digital display, stays on one frequency, different on each band.
The VFO was only getting 3v instead of 6v.
Cause - RECTIFIER C BOARD - VR01 - 5k trim pot open circuit.
Replaced with a multi-turn vertical 5k potentiometer, adjust to 6v on pin 10 or at pot itself.
Re-cap the board as well while you're at it, upgraded mine to 47uf 350v/ 22uf 450v caps.

Did not get the power plug with this (can run on AC or DC) so checked out the schematics and made my own for the 12 pin power connector as shown. Including the homemade power cable and two jumpers AS-IS- use at your own risk.

Overall very little wear. Was missing a bunch of case screws when found but otherwise don't see anything missing or damaged or tampered with.

Higher resolution photos are available upon request.

Email or message me for a ship quote - it should be between $14.99 and $38.99 if you in the continental United States of America. (Sept. 2024).
