Living Air XL AIR PURIFIER-FILTER-IONIZER for parts/repair?

FOR SALE:  This ionizer is in very nice cosmetic shape but as far as I can tell is not working correctly. Being sold as-is for parts or repair.

UPDATE: the removable ceramic and metal plate shown in the photos is NOT INCLUDED. Price has been lowered.

It powers up, fan works, power light works, power switch works, and fan speed control works. When I turn Purifier knob up or down I don't hear the quiet buzzing that I believe indicates the ionizer is working. I don't detect the "sweet" ozone smell that am used to these putting out when they are working correctly either. The neon orange light in front of the circular metal shield thing IS lit up when powered on.

No apparent missing or broken parts. Very little wear and pretty clean.
