This has a removable metal fin insert section that has a (very clean) replaceable carbon type odor filter on the back and a cleanable pre-filter screen on the front. The metal fins can be gently cleaned with water if they get grungy from dust and dander and other particle stuff. Manual for this model is available online for more info.
Unit weighs about 10 pounds before packing thanks to the powerful motor and cage fan. Can really move a lot of air on High, is almost silent on Low.. You can turn the Ionizer feature on or off- it is supposed to kill airborne bacteria and help trap tiny particles more effectively.
I just oiled the bearings on the motor shaft so it runs very smoothly. Gave it a basic cleaning - there was very little dust internally so think it probably was not used a lot but there is some minor cosmetic wear on the case, and on the bottom where there used to be four little rubber rectangular feet the plastic has broken off. Still sits fine but if you put on a surface that can be scratched you may want to take precautions, or add little felt feet stick on things. See last two listing photos for details on this.
