This runs off a rechargable LiOn battery and the battery is included and holding a good charge, however it has swollen up a bit and you don't want to keep the batter cover on with the battery in place because it bends it upwards a bit. Replacement batteries are readily available online and are inexpensive.
This is packed with features and gets excellent reception on AM, FM, and shortwave. Lots of built in scanning features. Good backlight and LCD display. This can also record from voice or radio with the included onboard 4GB memory or an optional micro SD card. Also plays back MP3 music or voice files. Good sound quality, very little wear, straight antenna.
