Tyco RC Moto-X Cycle - RADIO CONTROL DIRT BIKE - Travis Pastrana, new

$105.00

For Sale: This is a vintage collectible large toy radio control motorcycle with rider made in 2002- it's new, unused, and complete but the box has some wear from storage over the last 20 years.

The wear on the box and packaging includes some scuffs, a little dirt, small tears, etc. However IMO the boxed toy still displays pretty well. Please check the photos carefully for details on condition of the box and packaging.

There are 6 tape seals on the box and they all show some wear- so can't tell for certain if the box has been opened or not but I can tell that the bike and figure have never been removed from the packaging and are in new mint unused condition- wire ties hold them in place. The remote control is also in mint new condition and has never been removed from packaging. I can see by peeking behind one end flap that there is an instruction booklet or manual included. As stated on the box batteries are not included.

This is the 2002 version from Tyco/Mattel.

Some info found online about this set:

The ability of a toy to balance perfectly on two wheels and corner in the expected fashion didn’t just appear overnight, and was the result of many years of research and development, including several patents by Taiyo (Japan) and its founder Shohei Suto. Based on Suto’s designs which incorporated gyroscopic control, Taiyo (partially owned by Tyco at the time) would release numerous radio controlled motorbikes in the 1990s and 2000s all across the globe before Tyco took notice of the technology and began releasing their own variants.

Like all Taiyo bikes, the Moto-X drives/rides as you would expect, without any significant use of balance bars or other tricks, instead relying on an internal gyro stabilizer.

With a 7.4V Flexpack, the Moto-X has plenty of go... (and) the ability to pull off various stunts without crashing. The plastic Travis Pastrana figure on top of the bike has his hands locked around the handlebars, and is free to sway up off his seat into the air, allowing for some pretty realistic manouvers if you’re daring enough to put your bike in some risky scenarios.
