Carrera Evolution - SLOT CAR CONTROLLERS - one working, one needs wire repaired

For Sale:  Both of these look to be in mint shape.

One works perfectly, the other does not work. I opened it up and used a VOM meter to determine one of the three wires in the cable (the black one) is bad. Not sure where the break is but might be in the plug side.  You could improvise a fix with a single piece of wire or you can replace the entire coil cable which would definitely fix the issue.
