For Sale: Pair of vintage 1980's three way speakers doesn't have a brand name on it however reseach online show this exact speaker was marketed as the "ICS HiFi 880" as well as being sold under the Nikko name, probably the Philips name, and almost certainly a few others. Might have been mainly sold in Europe as almost all the ones I found online seem to be from there.
It has a distinctive heavy cast aluminum cabinet and the front is secured by four torx type security screws. Each speaker weights almost 4 pounds. The grill is metal. It's rated 4 ohm, 50 watt program power, and 100 watts maximum. As you can see in the photos the woofer magnet is "massive" relative to the size of the speaker. The surrounds are firm and the thick white cones have no rips, tears, holes, or voice coil rubbing. The "midrange" looks to be cone type with a mylar dust cap and tweeter drivers appear to be mylar type but not positive. They are all working correctly. Midrange might be better classified as a "low tweeter" and the tweeter as a high tweeter or maybe a super-tweeter.
Sound quality is quite good. No distortion or issues. Good bass response and good full range response.
Previous owner told me he used them in his van back in the day. Fitting IMO.
They have some minor cosmetic wear as shown but not bad. I think these were meant to be copies of the legendary Minimus 7 and it's cousins but they may have done them one better. Listed on edsgoodstuff webstore
