Altec Lansing APA995 - POWERED SUBWOOFER - surround amplifier

For Sale: This is a tested and working Dell/Altec Lansing powered subwoofer with 5 channel surround sound amplifier.

It works and has floor shaking bass but there is a very slight hum that can be heard if you are close to the speaker and there is no background noise. To me it sounds like you had your stereo system turned up to 10 but no signal was being inputed, which is basically how this is designed so it's possible it's normal. But if it is normal then it is poor design.

Only the subwoofer/amp unit is included but you can hook up 5 speakers- two front, two surround, and a center channel. They all work and have good sound quality but again there is a very very slight hiss in the speakers when powered on. It's not noticable at all when music is playing.

Green jack is for front speakers and sub, black is for rear speakers and sub, yellow is for center speaker and sub. Lots of computer sound cards used to use this setup. There is a diagnostic jack on the back and if you plug any of the plugs into the jack you will here a tone in the corresponding speaker set. Working correctly.

Shows cosmetic wear and there is a ding in one corner as seen in photos, still solid.  This is a very heavy unit so shipping won't be cheap...
