For Sale: Listing is for ONE driver, should have up to 3 still available. #1 got sold. Only #2 is shown in the photos but #3 and #4 are in identical condition.
Tested and working driver removed from a set of Polk RTA 11T tower speakers.
Marked MW 6510. Stamped M 11t with date stamp of 1990. All original. Cone has no rips, tears, holes, or voice coil rubbing. Polk used these in the RTA series of speakers and a few other models. Production on this model stopped a long time ago although they do (or did) make a replacement.
Just cleaned and they look pretty good. When found there were some white specks on the cones and surrounds as sometimes happens with stereo speakers- these were all easily removed by carefully rubbing with a soft cloth and some mild detergent with warm water. There are still faint cosmetic signs of the specks on the cones if you look carefully with light reflecting at a certain angle but of course they don't cause any issues. The rubber surrounds are marked Polk and are all in good condition- surrounds just cleaned 12/2024 with good quality rubber renewer solution.
Some older Polk drivers have a reputation for having the magnets slipping if treated roughly causing frozen voice coils- as a preventative safety measure a bead of clear glue was put around front and back of the magnet everywhere everywhere it contacts the metal parts.
These were tested audibly while still in their cabinets and sound quality was excellent at both high and low volume levels They were tested again individually without cabs. No distortion, vc rub, rumble, scratchiness, or issues were evident. I got identical readings on all four of these with my meter- right around 7 ohms DCR. They are rated 8 ohm impedance.
