Great for web browsing, email, Facebook, Instagram, Craigslist, etc. etc. Best thing about this computer is the large display along with the small amount of space it takes up.

  • Optical Drive - DVDRW reader writer burner
  • SD memory card slot
  • 4 USB ports
  • HD webcam
  • built in stereo speakers (great sound)

Computer is set up to dual boot either Windows 10 or Linux Mint 22 - when you power up the computer it presents you with a menu to choose either Windows or Linux, if you choose nothing Mint will start after 10 seconds. You can also change the boot order to have Windows as the default OS. Both operating systems are fully updated with all security patches. Windows 10 is legal and activated with a digital license so you can delete and re-install and it will still be activated. It MAY be possible to put Windows 11 on this computer but no guarantee.

Linux Mint runs pretty smoothly on this system. It takes a little while to boot up but after it starts applications load reasonably fast. Once it's running you can just leave it on and use the Suspend feature which pretty much powers it down and shuts off fans, display, and hard drive. Will start up again in seconds if you press any key on the keyboard. Both Firefox and Chrome internet browsers are installed and they can usually run YouTube videos at 720P HD resolution without problems. Also installed in Linux is the GIMP image program (like Photoshop) and Libre Office suite (like MS Word, Excel, etc). And some other useful programs, like internet radio, free internet TV program, and more. Mint is easy to use if you are familiar with Windows.

There are no passwords for Windows. If you want to change things or install programs in Mint the password is currently set to "111".

Windows 10 runs as expected and can be used for web browsing, email, etc. It's not super fast but it does OK. Support for Win 10 is ending soon so would recommend using Mint which will be kept up to date with security patches for many years to come. If you can use Windows you can use Linux Mint.
