For Sale: This all tube powered vintage record player and AM radio has been tested on 78RPM record playback and AM radio- works well, see video below.
This unit is also made to record to vinyl records and that feature has not been tested. YouTube videos online show disposable plastic food container covers being used in place of records for recording, do a search online if interested.
Includes the original Shure Pe9R Shure Phono P4 "W56R Cutter Cartridge" which is also used for record playback. One needle is included. 78 RPM record playback sounds OK and speed sounds correct. There is no excessive hum, static, or distortion from the tube amplifier. The sound quality on AM radio is pretty good from built in speaker.
The previous owner modified this with a mic jack, an input jack, and an output jack. He also moved the neon record level indicator light to the top. The light will work and you can see it flashing as you adjust the volume level on radio with knobs in certain position, see video. Not sure if or how the extra jacks are supposed to work.
Looks like all the original parts are here. Case shows some wear and there is some other general wear, not too bad. Some Tung Sol tubes, some Ken Rad. No cutter stylus came with this.
