Table marked Garrard 640s Made in England. On the back sticker marked Monteverdi Model F-470 Series 08a Automatic Turntable made in Great Britain.
Phono cartridge shown in photos is listed separately.
This 1970's or 1980's Garrard turntable shows some minor wear and can use a some cleaning. It has either had some "recent" maintenance done or been very very carefully stored as internally it looks to be in mint shape. If you stack a record on the spindle and move the lever to Automatic the platter will start spinning, the tonearm will raise up, the album will drop, the tonearm will move over to the first track and gently drop. Album plays until the end with no skipping or issues and sound quality was very good. The speed sounds right on correct. Performs these operations reliably and worked every single time I tried it. You can also use it as a full manual turntable.
Motor action and tonearm movement is strong with no bogging down or issues seen at all. Cuing lever works correctly and gently lowers/raises the tonearm.
THE ISSUES: (1) The black plastic clip on the back right hand side that will hold the dust cover in upright condition is broken (see photos). The one on the left side is intact and it's enough to hold the dust cover upright. (2) The speed selector switch is stuck in the 33 RPM/12" position and I didn't try to force it. If you want to play 45 or 78 RPM records you will have to work on it (3) Sometimes at the end of the record the autostop feature will work and the tonearm will automatically raise up and return to the holder and power off. Most of the time it won't.
