Xbox 360 Rockband Harmonix XBDMS2 - WIRELESS DRUMS - not syncing, for parts

For Sale:  I can't get these to sync to my Xbox 360.  When batteries are inserted and the home button is pressed the green X will blink.  The pattern is something like 13 medium speed blinks, 4 faster blinks, repeat.

None of the other buttons seem to have any effect.

Sold as-is for part or repair. If you just want to bypass all the electronics and connect the 4 piezo pads to a MIDI drum module that should be easy.  Changing it into a wired Xbox controller should be possible but have no idea how.

Some minor wear, not bad, no apparent damage.
