For Sale: Two extra nice woofers removed from a set of Criterion VI home stereo floor speakers. Made in Japan probably 1970's.
Excellent sound quality, no issues. Thick cast frames are approx. 12 3/4" in diameter. Voice coil looks to be 2". Treated acordion style paper surrounds firm movement, no rips, tears, holes, or voice coil rub. Vented dust caps. Large alnico magnets. These both have thin foam pices glued over the center of the cone- these pieces have dried up somewhat and a bit crumbly however they probably have little effect on the sound quality and are not needed at all for the speaker to function correctly.
These are marked CR - VI 50W music, Imp. 8 ohms. My guess would be 50 watt music power handling translates into well over 100 watt peak power handling but it's hard to tell what they mean because all the companies had different ways of measuring wattage.
Criterion made some cheap stuff and some high quality stuff- these are definitely in the later category. The speakers sounded great before being parted out and these appear to be a flagship model for the company. See my other listings for several sets of tweeters, super tweeters, and midrange drivers.
