For Sale- Tested and working set of rare Marantz speakers.
The cabinets are solid- both show a fair amount of cosmetic wear and do not come with grills. They work 100% and sound great with very deep and distinctive bass response. All original and the woofers just had new foam surrounds installed in May 2013.
Minor issues are- the shaft for one of the tweeter level control pots has broken off- it's set to "flat" and if you want to adjust it's possible. One of the tweeter domes are nicely rounded but one has some creases in it, still sounds the same as the other one. Both "Vari-Q" port dampers are included and since the original foam had pretty much turned to powder I cut some new foam plugs using foam saved from an old KEF 103/2 speaker. They work fine but are not perfectly shaped which is not an issue since they are both out of sight. All four drivers are original and work well.
This is an "audiophile cult classic" speaker with high quality midrange and super tweeter drivers, 12" woofer, and large dome tweeters... When you listen you will know why.
