For Sale: Tested and working legendary Sony cartridge CD changer, made in Japan 1988.
Works 100%, no issues. Good vibration resistance. Switches discs quickly and reliably. Heavy and high quality construction. Excellent sound quality thanks to Brown and Burr D/A converters. Shows only a little wear. All controls and features tested and working correctly. Features both optical and digital outputs as well as Fixed and Variable RCA analog outputs. Full size headphone jack with volume control. Nice bright display. Lots of high end features. This was rack mounted when I got it, sticker on side indicates there was an option for side panels which I think were wood, makes mention of needing longer screws for side panels.
Includes one 10 disc cartridge in good shape. Some info found on the web:
The CDP-C15ESD is a solid heavy unit for a CD player which is equipped with analog & digital output, Excellent acoustics from Dual Burr-Brown DACs and SONY’s propriety 18 bits 8x oversampling digital filter design.
SONY ES (Elevated Standard) series CD player is the nicer of the units in the SONY product line. The late 80's was a great time for SONY's ES line, essentially they were designing equipment where cost was no objective. SONY did not make a lot of the cassette CD changers and this changer is one of the top of the ESD (Elevated Standard Digital) model with all gold connectors on the rear panel.
