I believe this was made mainly for use with Remote Desktop applications- used to access a more powerful PC over network.  However it can have have Linux as well as some Windows operating systems installed on it and can be turned into a retro gaming PC or a number of other things.

This paticualar one is better than most of these out there because it has 1GB ram, 128mb flash, and 512mb rom, or at least that's what I think the sticker on the bottom indicates. Wifi has been tested by hooking up to my home network- works great and is fast. Gigabit ethernet also tested good. Has audio output, microphone input, two USB ports, PS2 mouse and keyboard ports. And DVI connector for your monitor.
