For Sale: Classic cleaned, tested, and working classic Technics direct drive turntable record player. Made in Japan around 1979.

Some minor cosmetic wear on the front between the pitch control and the logo, and some marks on the back. Otherwise pretty nice condition. No dust cover. The original legs have been replaced with four rubber/spring legs from another older Japanese turntable and are a good match for this model.

Phono cartridge is a vintage Radio Shack R25XT which is made by Shure along with a genuine Shure 3X stylus. Sound quality is excellent with clearly defined highs and bass. No skipping, no issues. The pitch control and strobe work correctly and speed is rock steady on both 33 and 45 RPM. No hum, no distortion, no static. Direct drive motor so no belts to wear out, faster spin up, best for DJ use.

The SL-D1 is a fully manual table which means to play an album you press the start button and the platter spins up. You manually move the tone arm over to the first track of record and lower the cuing lever. Tonearm very gently drops and the album starts to play, at the end of the record you raise the cuing lever, manually move the tonearm back to holder, and press the start/stop button to power off. No automatic features to bog down, super easy to use. Basically the same model as the SL-D2 and SL-D3 without the automatic features.
