For Sale: Matched pair tested and working classic floor speakers. Made in Japan around 1968.
Speakers are all original and sound excellent. All 10 alnico magnet drivers were checked individually and are working correctly. These have rear mounted level controls for the high and midrange drivers which were just cleaned with electronic contact cleaner spray so no scratchiness or dropouts when adjusted.
Drivers include two PT-257a tweeters, a PT-2K "super horn tweeter", a PM-122a midrange "squawker", and cast frame PW-301A woofer.
Speakers are conservatively rated 40 watt nominal, 60 watt max, 8 ohm. Cabinets are made of thick plywood and are reinforced with metal braces on rear corners. Previous owner added heavy duty hanging straps to the backs of each cab- these can be removed if you want. Grill fabric in excellent condition (grills are not removable), both speaker badges are included and original. Cabs are filled with acoustic insulation which is not shown in photos.
Cabinets have nicks and scratches to the veneer and the bottom of one corner over a few inches has the veener coming up- aparently it got exposed to some kind of oil or liquid at some point. The wood underneath veneer is solid. It's on the bottom so won't really be visible unless you plan on using the speakers on their side. I did not notice this when I bought them or when I photographed, only when I picked up by the paticular corner and felt the veneer... They are solid and sturdy, about 47 pounds each before packing.
