This set used a total of 7 AA batteries (last 2 years) to wirelessly transmit info from the outdoor sensor to the indoor monitor. Features include an "atomic clock" that is extremely accurate because it resets itself from radio signals, indoor and outdoor temperatures, wind speed, and humidity. As well as various computer forecasting indicators that use computer modeling to predict future weather patterns.
