Celestion 3 Mk II - WOOFER SPEAKERS - Ipswitch England, repair

For Sale:  This listing is for a PAIR of original Celestion 3 Mk. II woofer drivers.  The drivers work and have good sound quality at lower volume but if you turn them up both will distort somewhat.  There is nothing obvious wrong with them. It appears to me as if the oversize rubber surrounds have too much play in them and are too soft, which causes the voice coil to rub against the magnet shaft at high volumes.

So replacing the surrounds might remedy the issue but I can't say for sure. They are pretty high quality and well made so might be worth fixing. Sold as-is for parts or repair.
