$175.00

For Sale: Complete classic tested working classic all-in-one Gateway desktop computer that has been set up as a compact system for playing older PC games. Runs cool and quiet.

Make sure to read the ENTIRE listing description and view the ebay video before purchasing so you will know exactly what to expect.

Windows XP Pro SP3 32bit Integral operating system is installed. Hundreds of security patches, updates, third party fixes, useful utilities, and programs like 7zip, WinRAR, Irfanview, Media Player Classic, CD burning software, image mounting software, and more are installed. Basic word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is installed as well. MyPal 68 web browser is installed and allows you to browse modern websites and is based on back ported Firefox 68. This was probably one of the last desktops made that fully supported Windows XP- all the XP drivers are available. When found it had Windows 10 on it and it was legal/activated so if you want you can reinstall Win 10 and it will still be activated. Windows 7 is the OS this came with originally. The CPU can probably be upgraded Core 2 Duo or Quad.

A BookwormPup64 Linux CD is included and works great on this system. You can safely get on the internet with it and it's packed with useful modern programs. A great introduction to Linux that you can try without effecting the XP installation.

This was set up as a retro gaming machine so tested a bunch of classic games from the Windows XP era and earlier, almost all ran great- see listing photo for games that were tested to play on this computer- almost all ran with no or very few issues. Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem, Raptor, etc. all run perfectly. 3D games like Unreal Tournament, Doom III Arena, Warcraft, GTA, etc. almost all run well with perfect audio and good frame rates. Check ebay video to see how fast this boots from Hibernation, how starts/plays some games, frame rates, etc. See the higher resolution screen shot to see all the games that were tested on this system.

NOTES: 1). this has a good touchscreen display but touchscreen doesn't work in Windows XP- it's possible if you find the correct software the touchscreen will work in XP. Touchscreen worked 100% when tested with Windows 10. 2). There is one bright pixel in the display which you will probably only notice when the screen is all black or mostly dark. 3). The Avermedia TV tuner is installed correctly and worked well with Windows 10 Media Center, however I didn't have an antenna or adapter to connect to the small SMA or similar type connector so it did not pick up any local digital channels. Windows XP does not have any TV tuner software installed although the XP Avermedia drivers are installed. 4). When you press the Gateway power button sometimes it takes a while to get through the BIOS and start booting, maybe 15 extra seconds or so. 5). Computer has some minor cosmetic wear, some scuffs in the black plastic case, other minor general wear. Not bad and no damage is evident

EXTRAS: 1). Copies of Windows XP Pro SP3 Integral 2024 install discs- automated installation in case you ever need to re-install windows. The correct Windows XP drivers are all saved to a folder on the desktop- you should back them up to a memory card or somewhere ASAP because they were hard to track down. 2). A bootable/live copy of BookwormPup64 Linux that will allow you to get on the internet safely and run up to date applications with this computer.
