For Sale: This is a fully tested and working classic portable 50 watt guitar and vocals amplifier with a 10"/100 watt speaker and 2" tweeter. Amp is all original except for the battery- new battery was purchased on 4/25/25, it's a 12 volt 7AH sealed lead acid rechargeable battery and is the correct replacement and perfect fit for the amp. Basically you are paying $100 for the amp and $20 for the new battery which is about how much it cost.
The is the "vintage" second generation of this amp (TX50DBE) and it was made in the USA by SLM/Saint Louis Music Co. probably around 2001. Apparently it was so popular they are still making the third generation model but it's being made in China. And they went back to the wood and tolex cabinets from the first generation so it's a bit smaller but also heavier. The word online is that is sounds "different".
Cabinet shows the usual skuffs from use but is 100% solid. Amp has some cosmetic wear. The 10" speaker has no rips, tears, holes, or voice coil rubbing. Tweeter is working perfectly too. ALL the controls, inputs, outputs, features, etc. are working correctly. There is no unwanted distortion or issues with the sound. All 3 channels are working correctly. Amp has very good sound and very good tone IMO. The effects are all working correctly- reverb, chorus, echo, etc. are a bit limited but they all work. Amp is all original- speaker is marked SLM, all the knobs are the originals, etc.
Has 1/4" input for instrument - 2 channel selection. Has low impedance XLR microphone input, 1/4" high impedance mic input, RCA line inputs for CD player or other line level sources (mp3 player, phone headphone jack, etc). 1/4" headphone jack output and 1/4" footswitch jack.
Includes an upgraded 3.36 amp AC adapter/battery charger that puts out the required 15 volts DC- it acts as a regular power supply once the battery is fully charged. There is also an input on the amp for hooking up to a vehicle cigarette lighter port or an external battery (12 volt -13.5 volt DC). IMPORTANT: If you buy this DO NOT try to charge the internal battery with any charger other than the one that is included (or another one that supplies 15 volts) or you will probably end up overcharging and damaging the battery. DO NOT plug the included 15 volt charger into the 12 volt cigarette lighter input. With a correct charger once it reaches full charge the red charging LED goes very dim and it stops charging until needed again. With a lower voltage adapter connected to the charging input it will apparently never stop charging which is bad.
There is a ton of info available on this model online just do a search for manuals, full specs, dual battery mods, lithium-ion battery mods, other modifications, etc.
